Mariot_eastGolf Son Antem. East 6274m Par 72, West 6293 Par 72.
Weaving through woodlands with water hazards on six holes Son Antem East will test the average golfer without being too penalizing. Fairways are relatively wide, but the approaches to the greens require some accuracy.
A well designed course the wide, long fairways allow the high handicap player to recover from bad tee shots. There is plenty of rough, and a good supply of spare balls is recommended.

Son Antem West is a more challenging because of its narrow fairways and elevated greens. Four sets of trees on each hole plus two lakes add to the test. The course meanders through native woodlands and the gently sloping hills to provide a picturesque experience of Mallorca's beauty.

top

AndratxGolf de Andratx. 6087m Par72.

Getting round with the same ball is a real challenge here, made difficult by the 7 cunningly placed water hazards spread out over 6 different holes. The 60 bunkers have the finest quality "snow-white Quartzsand".

The course boasts typical Mallorquin stone walls both new and restored adding a real local flavour to the surroundings. Very eye-catching is the contrast between the 3 different grass colors giving the golfer no excuse in recognising if the ball is on the fairway or in the rough. After the round the golfer is richer in experience but probably poorer in golf balls. Whatever the case, the golfer is sure to be attracted back to play again and once more do battle with the course.
Buggies are compulsory due to the very long walks between some greens and tees.

top

Golf Santa PoncaGolf Santa Ponsa.

Played host to the Balearic Open when it was part of the European PGA Tour schedule on six occasions between 1988 and 1998. Severiano Ballesteros won the Open twice at Santa Ponsa.

It is a very demanding course with wide, but sloping, fairways. Water comes into play on five of the holes and the 590 metre 10th is one of the longest holes in Europe. The long dog-leg 16th seems never ending as you encounter one hazard after another but a good round at Santa Ponsa is a rewarding feeling.
top

PoinenteGolf Poniente. 6340m Par 72

A well designed course that even the best of players find it hard tto beat at times. The views from the 8th, and the 16th holes are exhilarating and it is hard to believe that you are only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Magalluf.

The wide fairways are a feature of Poniente, the large greens are also devious at times. The main hazards are the many trees which line the fairways. The 10th hole is probably one of the best golf holes in Mallorca. Stroke index 1, it does not appear that hard, but out of bounds on the right and a lot of water to negotiate make it a great hole to achieve your par on.

top

BendinatGolf de Bendinat. 5660m, Par 70

Constructed in mountainous terrain the course rises about four hundred metres from the 2nd green up to the 14th tee which is high in the mountains. The course should always be played from the back tees as it is not that long, but you will find yourself reaching for an iron instead of the driver in order to keep the ball in play. Don't be fooled by its length - this is a very tough course
The views over the Bay of Palma from the course are spectacular and the flora and wildlife around the course are a joy to see. The Bendinat Club Golf has created its own special nature reserve and is one of only 15 golf courses in Europe to take this step.

top

Son VidaGolf Son Vida.

Set amongst some of the most luxury properties on the island. Countless almond, carob, pine and palm trees can be found around the course which has been undergone an intensive renovation.
You can look forward to newly designed very fast greens, prepared with A4-seed, a first class type of turf found in only very few golf courses in Europe with. Another challenge are the new ponds- for example hole 18, where you now have to play your shot across water. Son Vida is ideal for the less experienced golfer, as the renovation has created a challenging but fair environment.

top

Son MuntanerGolf Son Muntaner 6347m Par 72

The Course nestles between the hills of Son Vida and Palma. The young course fulfils the highest sporting standards and is considered in golfing circles to be surely the most beautiful course the island has to offer.

Son Muntaner was opened in March 2000 and holds two important environment friendly certificates. It was designed by Kurt Rossknecht and is a great championship course surrounded by majestic native vegetation. It is probably Mallorca`s most exclusive course and the greenfees reflect this fact.

top

Son TermensGolf Son Termens. 5582m, Par 71

Son Termens is one of the newer breed of Mallorcan golf courses, picturesque yet demanding and has been superbly laid out using many local features. A hilly course, it is sorrounded by mountains and offers panoramic views towards the Bay of Palma.

Set in a valley, it probably takes advantage of its natural terrain more than any other course in the Balearics. Son Termens prides itself in its greens which are of the highest standard. But many of them are protected by bunkers, trees and ravines. This course leaves very little margin for error. To finish walk up to the elevated clubhouse which overlooks the entire course and is a perfect place to sit and reflect at the end of your round of golf.

top

PollensaGolf Pollensa 9 hole course (5304m Par 70)

9 Holes of Golf perfectly adapted to the local environment. The course offers panoramic views over the Tramuntana mountains, olive groves, the bays of Pollença and Alcudia and s’Albufereta reserve. By the end of the first round, the visitor will surely agree that challenge, variety, and harmony with nature are focal points around which the club’s success is built.

top

AlcanadaGolf de Alcanada. 6477m Par 72

A virgin terrain gently sloping down towards the shoreline, with its pine, olive and oak trees, and marvellous views of the island of Alcanada with the lighthouse in the foreground, and the mountains of the Sierra de Levante in the background. And the legendary architects Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr., who designed a magnificient 18 hole golf course. To play here is a must for every golfer.

top

CapederaCapedera Golf. 6045m Par 72

Also known Roca Viva, it is set in beautiful countryside and whilst it is surrounded by mountains it also offers some spectacular views of the Mediterranean. It is divided into two halves: the first nine holes are flat with long fairways, while the second nine holes start off with three flat hole before rising into Artá mountains.

There are six artificial lakes and three of these make their presence felt on the 5th, 11th and 18th holes. But it is a course which many regard as the finest and fairest in Mallorca and is a true test for high and low handicap players.

top

CanyamelGolf Canyamel. 6186m Par 73

Set in a small valley, the natural terrain is a perfect setting for a golf course, a hilly front nine holes and a slightly longer and flat back nine - but a lot of water makes up for its flatness.

A well mantained course with exceptionallity well kept greens. Many of the fairways are wide giving high handicap players chance to make amends for wayward tee shots. Many of the natural old stone walls have been left intact around the course and one of the best known landmarks on all of the Mallorcan golf courses is the stone house in the middle of the 9th fairway.

top

Vall dOreGolf Vall d'or. 5585m Par 71

The back nine are set amongst a variety of trees: carob, olive, almond and of course pine, compared to the outward nine are very hilly. The holes that currently make up the first nine are set too amongst trees but mostly pines. However, in between the trees you can get spectacular views of the Mediterranean looking out towards the resorts of Porto Colom and Cala D'Or.

Unlike the back nine which are very compact fairways, the opening nine holes are spread out more. The course is not particularly tough and gives the high handicap player an opportunity to return a satisfying card.

top

Pula GolfPula Golf. 6003m Par 71

Pula opened at the end of 1995 and in 2001 underwent major re-construction work with changes to all but a handful of holes.

Despite being so new, it is already well known thanks to many top class tournaments which attrack many well known names from the world of show business and sport. Pula also hosted Mallorca's first "Skins Game" in 1997 when José Maria Olazabal, Mark McNulty, Carl Suneson and Bernhard Langer took part. Olazabal reckons it is amongst the top 20 courses in Spain. It is a flat course with some wonderful views of both mountains and the sea. It is built on the site of an ancient estate and many natural elements have remained the place.bbbbbb.

top

Son Servera Golf Son Servera. 5956m Par 72

Narrow fairways winding through a pine forest and very fast greens mean accuracy rather than length is important here.
