About Majorca

TRAVELLING TO MALLORCA

Mallorca is an excllent short-break as well as longer stay golfing destination because of the low cost of flights and because it's just a couple of hours’ away. We do not book flights but shall be glad to advise you on routes and approximate costs and to share our own travel experiences with you. Mallorca’s modern international airport is on the edge of the capital, Palma; car-hire and transport/transfers can be arranged. There is a good motorway network enabling visitors to get around easily; taxis are plentiful, well regulated and cheap

Mallorca is the largest of the 5 Balearic Islands and has over 300 sunny days a year. The warm Mediterranean sun highlights the sea, beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty and most of all, and contrary to popular opinion, the island is a great place to relax and for sports lovers it is an ideal year-round destination.
Forget 'patatas fritas' with everything; the discos and beer cellars still exist but we have chosen to ignore the most populated resorts.
As we have discovered, the island is a fascinating place to visit, not least because of all the famous people, including artists, writers and composers, who spent time here. Even today many celebrities make their way to Mallorca to get away from it all.
The Baleric Islands demonstrate a particularly warm sense of hospitality, and Mallorca is no different... whether in large resorts, or 'lost' in the countryside, you will be greeted warmly. Local trades and rural activities still abound. but is alive to contemporary design, gastronomic cuisine and the need to move with the times.
Palma, the capital is a great place for daytime or evening entertainment, loads to see and do, and a vibrant night-life. If you have not been to Mallorca since your teens, it's worth a visit to witness the changes.New road networks on the island and daily flights in from many regional airports mean this colourful, modern, yet traditional destination is only a couple of hours away from the UK.

Golf on the Island

Because Majorca is a small island many courses are easily reachable by car or taxi wherever you stay. There are some 19 courses open and are remarkably green and kept in excellent condition; we have visited most and our overall impression of golf in Mallorca is an excellent one, which is why, after several personal trips there, we are introducing a small selection of what we have found.

Our local contacts can arrange transport to and from the airport, or car-hire for the duration of your stay. For a short resort-based break, local taxis would suffice. Course maintenance everywhere is of a high standard and all courses have a bar, restaurant/dining facilities Clubhouses range from the cosy farmhouse style, to splendid luxury. As other courses open, we will be visiting and deciding whether to offer them in our selection. Golf Maioris, Son Quint Golf & Golf Son Gual are under construction. We emphasise, this is only a part of what is on offer.
