You may connect Chantilly with lace, fine porcelain, thoroughbred horses, or even whipped cream..but GOLF? Tradition has it that the 'old' Chantilly Golf Club is among the best courses in France.and this is still true.but access to visiting golfers is restricted, to 4 weekdays and then only to the better golfer. Fields Fairway can arrange tee times for clients of the Dolce Hotel, at additional cost to the Chantilly golf pass, described later. Within several kilometres of Chantilly's truly historic centre there are 4 other courses open to visitors. On our visit to the area and the golf clubs, we were impressed by the QUALITY of all these courses and the SERVICE in clubhouses and our selected hotel, DOLCE CHANTILLY (4*)

Our recommendation, for a first trip, is to take the GOLF PASS, giving access to 4 Clubs, 5 courses:

GOLF DE RARAY, in the grounds of a magnificently preserved 17th century castle, meanders through the grounds and adjacent woodlands. The Chateau houses the Clubhouse and there are 10 guest hotel rooms on the top floor (4*). We shall be glad to quote for a golf-inclusive stay at the Chateau de Raray. It is a grand, but quiet location. To the south-west, and 10 minutes closer to Paris, the Oise River meanders through some surprisingly beautiful valleys and forest scenery. This region is prime golfing country. Course design must have been a pleasure for the likes of Ronald Fream and the great Jack Nicklaus, with so many natural contours and fabulous forests as their canvas.

Our favourite is PARIS INTERNATIONAL GOLF CLUB where Fields Fairway customers are treated as members for a day. More than a superb golf course, a club where all the facilities are at your disposal, and on a members' day, stay as long as you like.practise and play as much golf as you like, buggies included, then maybe a swim, dine & relax. You owe it to yourself to make the most of this very special privilege. You'll enjoy the golf, too! The GOLF HOTEL de MONT-GRIFFON offers golf-course views. The small town of Luzarches is a couple of minutes away, offering alternative dining possibilities. Paris is 35 minutes, by car, for a 'big night out'. We can help you with accommodation in Paris if you wish to extend your stay, to see the sights.

These destinations have numerous advantages: easy to reach form the Channel Terminals, under 3 hours from Calais; just 40 minutes short of Paris. Plenty of history and art to explore locally. Everything is within a short, uncomplicated drive, once you are there. Our selection of quality golf courses falls into 2 areas, but their proximity allows you to travel between the two, for example, Chantilly is 15km from Mont Griffon.
