food and bar, pro-shop. Our view: Two steep walks, not for the fainthearted, but
beautiful course, to which we are happy to return.
Golf Club De L'Amiraute. 6067m, Par 73.
Landscape: 2 flat plateaus, one higher than the other. Description: Plenty of water, Florida-style, modern design Facilities: Old stud farm, transformed into modern facilities. Good
restaurant, terrace with views over the valley and every convenience Our view: Interesting layout and the modern sculptures around
the course leave little to your imagination.
St Gatien, Deauville. 6751m, Par 72.
Landscape: Woodland, undulating in parts Description: 3 9-hole loops, one in an old orchard, views over Seine
estuary Facilities: Wonderful lunch-time buffet, if you time your arrival
at the converted cider-press club house, to perfection. Practice
facilities. Our view: We enjoyed both the golf and the lunch. A few
'simple' holes, but do not spoil the overall impression.
New Barriere, Deauville.
Landscape: On a hilltop, outside Deauville, good views Description: Top designers have worked wonders with the parkland
setting. Facilites: High standard club, which has many members' and visitors'

Landscape: Parkland within a conservation area Description: Number of blind holes and water hazards, but suitable
for all Facilities: Converted manor house acts as clubhouse. You will enjoy
the setting, especially in summer. Practice. Short 9 holes, too. Our view: Suits all levels of golfer, varied terrain and
Pays d'Auge country is the home of Calvados..need we say more?
Houlgate 5479m Par 71 Landscape: Ancient park, bit up and down, as along sloping valley Description: Not long, but challenging enough for all levels. Buggies: Buggies and pull trolleys for hire Facilities: Old, Normandy timbered clubhouse, terrace in fine weather.
Cosy, rather than fancy. Limited food.
Our view: Welcoming staff. Good views. Don't be put off
by the undulating terrain.
Golf De Garcelles 5716m, Par 70.Landscape: Woodland, 5 holes with lakes, for protection. Description: Relatively flat. New course, 2001, by designer of Omaha
Beach complex. Buggies: Pull trolleys only Facilities: Practice range plus 6 holes compact par 20. Bar and
pro-shop.
Our view: One of the few courses we offer, we have yet to
play.
Granville 5834m, Par 71.
Landscape: 'Scottish' style seaside course Description: Views across the Bay of Mont St Michel, Colt design,
dry the year round. Facilities: Clubhouse with bar-restaurant. Practice ground , plus
additional 9 holes, if you have time. Our view: Traditional design, dating back to 1912, will
delight links fans.
Omaha Beach 5974m, Par 72
Landscape: 3 different 9-hole loops, woodland, water and sea being
the themes Description: Apple trees, lakes and the wind off the Channel, depending
on your choice of 'loops' Buggies: Pull trolleys only Facilities: On-site hotel, clubhouse and bar. Full practice facilities.
Our view: 27h day rate is available, allowing you to play
all the holes. This is a nice setting, decent complex and can be
combined with a WWII history tour.
Hotel La Presidence, Dieppe Centre. 89 rooms 3*
Opposite the seafront and adjacent to the town of Dieppe. Modern.
Panoramic restaurant, fish specialities. Bar in 'pub' tradition,
open till late. Parking.Close to town's 100 or more eating places, all
within walking distance.

The chateau is also the golf clubhouse. Rooms are well appointed,
but you must share with your friends. Restaurant & clubhouse
snacks, bar, snooker, TV and on course. Quiet location. Take
the car to go anywhere.

Bar, underground car park, buffet breakfast.Ideal to combine a 'city break' with golf. The
golf courses are about 1/2 hour outside the city. Having to drive
makes up for the night-life and history of Rouen.

18 Sizeable bedrooms within a converted 18c. mansion. All set
in rolling Normandy countryside Bar, good restaurant, parking. Very
quiet location.You really need to be prepared to eat in the hotel
restaurant. Close, but not walking distance to small, historic town
of Le Gaillon.

twin rooms. Gastronomic restaurant, parking, bar open all day.Well placed in historic Evreux. The lack of twin
rooms means not ideal for groups.

Landscape: Clifftop links, splendid views Description: Well maintained, easy walking, apart from one steep
downward path. Facilities: Modern clubhouse serves decent midday meals, bar. Our view: Spectacular views over the rugged cliffs, across
the Channel and the small town of Etretat. Has to be done.
Saint-Saens 5905m, Par 70.
Landscape: Five flat holes with water, then woodland & open countryside Description: Varied terrain. Well maintained, especially the greens.
Not over tricky. Facilities: Chateau with 7 bedrooms which is also clubhouse, bar & restaurant on site. Our view: Friendly welcome for our customers. Still offers
very good golfing value, but getting busier, as it becomes known.

the time Facilities: Fabulous half-timbered Normandy clubhouse, housing restaurant
and bar Our view: Overall pretty setting, within a smart residential
estate. No fairway watering, as yet.
Lery Poses 6168m, Par 72.
Landscape: Close to the R. Seine, adjacent to a leisure and water
complex Description: Modern course, open to all levels Facilities: Clubhouse, bar & restaurant. Full practice facilities
and a 9 hole training course Our view: Buy a course-planner to spot the difficulties!
Le Golf Parc 6027m, Par 72.
Landscape: Varied tree-filled park. Description: Modern layout, plenty of water, but oh so pretty. Must play with a buggy Facilities: Clubhouse, food and bar, even a cooked breakfast, to
order. Rates include a share of an obligatory buggy Our view: Only recently opened to the golfing public, really
worth the trip. Magnificent in autumn.
